The Asher

Fremont, CA

Located just a short walk to the newly built Fremont BART station, The Asher is a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) that sits in an ideal location at the East Bay foothills with stunning views in all directions. The landscape concept takes inspiration from the agrarian history of the surrounding region – applying it through a diverse palette of native and contextual planting, linear paving patterns and banding – spanning numerous amenity spaces (including a butterfly garden) spread throughout the 13-acre site.

A central feature of the project is the “Linear Green” which serves a dual role as a vehicular fire lane and a link from the surrounding streetscape/community to the central pool and club room. This lively pedestrian corridor activates the heart of the community with seating pods, games, walking paths, and textural planting.

Careful attention to detail in the design of smaller, intimate spaces brings a sense of identity to larger scale projects. Key elements such as custom fire tables, enhanced encaustic tile paving, and careful furnishing selection creates a sense of warmth and invitation to venture into the outdoors.

On top of the central parking structure sits an amenity deck which includes a pool area, cabanas, and dining spaces. This space highlights the best views and creates a softness and warmth through wood decking, lush planting, and intimate seating spaces.
