Madison Avenue Park

Los Angeles, CA

East Hollywood grew from a farming community into a bustling Los Angeles borough during the 1920s. Many extant buildings and institutions from that era provide the context for the neighborhood. Madison Avenue Park creates a place that celebrates the regional history and plants the seeds from which the community’s next chapters can sprout. A packing house style structure creates the framework for the park along with many opportunities for play. The structure supports swings, climbing and sliding play elements, provides shade, and is a visual cue to the region’s agricultural history.
