Pine Avenue Park is a 6,500 square foot park located in the densely populated city of Maywood, California. Within walking distance to hundreds of homes, this park was designed through a participatory process with the community it serves. A water play stream and small play forms keep the neighborhood children busy while parents can watch from boulder seating or picnic tables. Designed with plants native to the Los Angeles River, this park features walkways, sitting areas, and brightly colored mosaics by a local artist. Low impact design treats all stormwater on site before it drains to the river.
