Replacing an old instructional building, Golden West College’s new Language Arts Complex embodies openness and collaboration through three different zones—each catering to the desired programming per category. The reading and writing zone accommodates individual and small group study by creating intimate spaces surrounded by lush and peaceful landscapes. Adjacent is the listening and speaking zone designed to support more active programming. The center of the listening and speaking zone serves as a small stage for group readings accompanied by linear seatwalls and communal tables. The viewing and visual representation zone display meaningful quotes and other visual demonstrations throughout the site.
