A choreographed series of spaces begins as one approaches the English Arts and Crafts inspired house. Garden rooms were carved from the existing canopy and give form and focus to the previously shapeless spaces.

For over one hundred years this home has stood at the crest of a two-acre parcel in a bucolic neighborhood. By the time our client purchased the property, the gardens had become a tangled jungle where sunlight rarely reached the ground. An ambitious re-imagination of the grounds ensued, the first phase of which entailed a careful editing of the canopy and what was left of the understory.
