Now in his fourth decade of practice, Nord Eriksson, a partner and principal, has distinguished himself through his deep love of design and his shepherding of the firm’s growth. Early exposure to the profession (his father co-founded the firm) gave Nord a close up view of the myriad ways landscape architecture enriches the lives of others. Trained in offices in California, Florida and Texas before joining EPT
DESIGN, Nord developed a strong design voice and approach steeped in the interrelated connections of site, history, art, and architecture. His work spans the detailed craftsmanship of high-end estate gardens to resilient and efficient commercial and campus environments. Recent work includes the West Hollywood Library expansion and park project with Johnson Favaro and a new creative office complex for The Ratkovich Company on the historic Playa Vista site where Howard Hughes built the Spruce Goose. While stylistically wide-ranging, each garden is characterized by clarity, soulfulness, and a passion for making beautiful and enduring places. Nord’s projects earn design awards and national exposure in publications such as Veranda, Garden Design, Hospitality, and Martha Steward Living. His greatest reward is work that leads to lasting friendships and the creation of enduring places designed to inspire and elevate the spirit.
