Inspired by the community’s vision and their cultural heritage, this park pays tribute to Benito Juarez and his hometown of Oaxaca, and provides a playful garden for children of all ages. Colorful tiled play sculptures reference Alebrije wood carvings, a mini skate park is modeled after the Monte Alba ruins, and a modestly sized synthetic playfield is defined by a succulent garden reminiscent of the Jardin Etnobotanico found in Oaxaca. A decorative gated entry, plaza, and trellis structure greets visitors and provides space for the community to gather and celebrate their history. This park opened in June of 2015.
